100 ml of skin solution contain: active ingredient: benzalconio chloride 0.2 g. Excipients with known effects: lemon essence For the full list of excipients, see paragraph 6.1.

Excellent

Lemon essence (contains: 3-Methyl-4-(2,6,6-trimethyl-2-cyclohexen-1-yl)-3-buten-2-one, citral, d-limonene, hydroxycitronellal), color E 104, purified water.

Therapeutic indications

Disinfection of the skin not severely injured (small surface wounds, abrasions). Disinfection of external genitals.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or any of the excipients listed in paragraph 6.1.

Population

For the disinfection of the skin not severely injured, apply the solution, without diluting it, directly or with a cotton ball. For the disinfection of external genitals, dilute 1 tablespoon of product in 1 litre of water. Repeat if necessary the operation 2 - 3 times a day, without exceeding the recommended doses.

Conservation

Store in well closed containers protected from light.

Warnings

The product is only for external use. Avoid contact with eyes, brain, meninges and middle ear and use on severely injured skin. The product should not be used for prolonged treatments: after short period of treatment without appreciable results, medical evaluation is necessary. The use, especially if prolonged, of the products for topical use can also give rise to phenomena of sensitization, in this case it is necessary to interrupt the treatment and carry out a clinical evaluation. Ingestion or accidental inhalation of some disinfectants may have serious, sometimes fatal consequences. Exposure to ultraviolet rays (oven or artificial sources) after application of the product must be avoided. Important information about some excipients Disintyl contains lemon essence in turn containing cytral, d-limonene and hydroxycitronellal. Citral, d-limonene and hydroxycitronellal can cause allergic reactions.

Interactions

The product is inactivated by anonymous detergents (such as the most common soaps). The contemporary use of other antiseptics and detergents must be avoided.

Effects

It is possible the occurrence of intolerance (burn or irritation) that does not require modification of the treatment. The product is toxic when applied in the ear and tends to bind the horny epithelial membrane. Reporting of suspicious adverse reactions The reporting of suspicious adverse reactions that occur after the authorization of the medicinal product is important, as it allows continuous monitoring of the benefit/risk ratio of the medicinal product. Overdosing

No overdose damage has been reported under normal conditions. Accidental ingestion can cause nausea and vomiting. Symptoms of intoxication resulting in ingestion of significant amounts of quaternary ammonia compounds include dispnea, cyanosis, asphyxiation, resulting in paralysis of respiratory muscles, SNC depression, hypotension and coma. In man the lethal dose is about 1 - 3 g. The treatment of poisoning is symptomatic: administer if necessary lenitives. Avoid emesis and gastric lavender.

The product must be used during pregnancy and during breastfeeding only after medical evaluation.
