DORMIPLANT 160 MG + 80 MG

active ingredients

One tablet contains: Valerian dry extract root (3–6:1) 160 mg Melissa dry extract leaves (4–6:1) 80 mg Excipient: hydrogenated castor oil, sucrose For the full list of excipients see paragraph 6.1.

Silica colloidal, sucrose, chrosopovidone, hydrogenated castor oil, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, glucose syrup, calcium carbonate, talc, macrogol 1000, caramel sodium, polysorbate 80, macrogol 6000, povidone, ipromellose, sodium dodecylsulphate, titanium dioxide (E171), carmine.

Therapeutic indications

Clear sedative, also to favor the night rest.

Contraindications

Individual hypersensitivity ascertained to the components of the product or substances strictly related to the chemical point of view. Generally contraindicated in pregnancy and nursing (see par. 4.6).

Population

1–2 tablets to take 2 times a day, swallow with water. Do not exceed the recommended doses. Use is not recommended in children under 12 years of age (see par. 4.4)

Conservation

Do not store at temperature above 30 ° C.

Warnings

In children under 12 years the use of Dormiplant is not recommended Consult your doctor if your symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks or worsen during treatment. It is recommended to take it after the main meals and the evening before bedtime. (v. par. 4.5). Important information about some excipients. The medicine contains hydrogenated castor oil: it can cause gastric disorders and diarrhea. Patients suffering from rare glucose–galactose disease problems should not take this medicine. Tablets covered with film should be swallowed with water.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines are not documented in literature. However, probably, valerian extracts can enhance depressive effects on the central nervous system induced by other substances, such as barbituric and chlorromazine. It shows that contemporary use with psychopharmaceutical, barbitural or sedatives is not recommended. The effects of valerian and melissa can be enhanced by alcohol; it is therefore not recommended that Dormiplant be taken simultaneously and excessive doses of alcohol.

Effects

Gastrointestinal disorders (e.g. nausea, abdominal cramps) may occur. The frequency is not known.

Overdosing

From literature, which mostly considers experimental evaluations on the animal, there are no symptoms of intoxication; however, it is likely to admit depressing effects on the central nervous system.

In literature there are no documents on possible contraindications in pregnancy or during breastfeeding; it is likely, however, that these conditions have not been explicitly investigated. Having no data available to evaluate the safety profile in case of pregnancy of the Valerian and Melissa association, Dormiplant administration is not recommended in pregnant women or in nursing (see paragraph 4.3).
